What's in a Name?
After a series of strong conceptual designs, the city of Lincoln, Nebraska selected a bold statement for their new pedestrian bridge in the Haymarket district that gives them presence from the air and impact from the ground. Halo illuminated letter forms spell out LINCOLN on either side while the name is repeated as part of the canopy thresholds across the bridge. Contained on each panel is "midwestern" value that is connected with a influential Nebraskan quote. Coordination with the city, the railroad and the arena developers was and added layer of design constraints as we worked to meet all the structural and code requirements.
